Dear Parents, Carers and Friends,
The term is flying by, and the teachers are busily preparing reports which will be issued on Friday Week 9. In line with the communication issued by Catholic Education Canberra Goulburn earlier in the year this semester’s reports will not have comments. Rather we value meeting with all parents to discuss the children’s progress and to work to develop goals for moving forward next semester. The Parent-Teacher Conference timetables were shared with all parents last week. Please make time to meet with your child/ren’s teacher/s. If there is no possible way of making any of the interview times offered, please contact your child’s class teacher to book an alternative time as we would really like to meet with all parents to work together in support the children.
GEARING UP FOR PARENT ENGAGEMENT IN STUDENT LEARNING is a new resource available for families on the Gearing Up for Parent Engagement website. The resources will lead school staff and families through a series of video workshops to explore various aspects of engaging families in learning and wellbeing, with a focus on strong home and school partnerships. Please have a look and reach out if you have any questions or suggestions.
We have happy news today with the safe arrive of a beautiful baby girl for Mr Prpic and his wife early this morning. I am sure you will join me in congratulating Mr and Mrs Prpic and wishing them a joyous time together as a little family over the coming weeks. We will look forward to his return to school next term.
A committee of fabulous parents has been working hard with members of the Community Council to bring about our first school disco for the year. It is bound
to be great fun for the children and a lovely opportunity for parents to catch up while the children are in the hall enjoying themselves. Please add it to your
diary, Sunday 30th June from 4:30 to 5:30pm. I sincerely thank all those parents involved in getting this community event up and running.
Prayer is an important and powerful part of our Catholic tradition and praying as a community for others is so valuable. Please join me in praying for those in our community in need of prayers due to illness, injury,
like a loving shepherd you care for us and provide us with all that we need. You shower us with your love and send people into our lives to help care for us, especially in times of sickness and pain.
We pray for healing for all who suffer due to illness, injury, loneliness or aging. We pray especially for George and the Fearon family.
In the midst of all pain and weakness, strengthen the faith of those in need and fill them with hope in You. In the midst of frustration and worry, give patience and ease fears. Help all the afflicted to know they are not alone, that You walk with us all each moment of our lives.
Be with us all Lord, in our time of need. Heal us in body, soul and spirit that we may rejoice in your grace and blessings in this world.
We ask this through Jesus Christ, our Lord
Amen
This week on Wednesday, Thursday and Friday several of our Year 4 students will be receiving the Eucharist for the first time. Please keep these children in your prayers as they make this significant step in their faith journey. All are welcome to join us at any of these masses which will be celebrated at 5:30pm on each of the days at the St Raphael church on Lowe Street.
Have a blessed week.

2024 NSW PREMIER'S READING CHALLENGE
Congratulations to the following students who have completed this year's Challenge in the past 2 weeks:
Year 1: Emmanuel B, Xavier L, Phoebe F, Jonah W, Daxton Z
Year 2: Gabrijela S, Sophie D, Indiana K, Emily P
Year 3: Mitchell H, Francis L, Adijan K
Year 4: Reuben D
Year 5: Ryley L
Year 6: Matilda D, Achilles A
We now have 183 students that have registered for this year's challenge, but it's not too late to register your child.
It would be great to have some more participants from Years 4, 5 & 6.
If you are interested in the challenge for your child, please download and read the Parent Letter and return the registration form to the Library.
It can be downloaded from the school's website - "Communications/Notes/2024 PRC Parent Letter".
Even if you child has participated in previous years, we still require the registration form to be completed.
This is a voluntary extra-curricular activity that needs to be supported by parents/carers. Once your child has been registered, this is an activity which requires you - the parent/carer - to record and update your child's record. We help and support this activity, however you must be involved to monitor, encourage, and record online. If you are not prepared to do this, please do not register your child.
Reading from 01 September 2023 to 22 August 2024 is eligible to be counted.
The closing date for entering books on the website is 23 August 2024.
Any question should be directed to myself at natalina.ireland@cg.catholic.edu.au

St Vincent de Paul Can Appeal
Vinnies are in need of canned veggies to support those less fortunate. The Social Justice team have organised to have a peas, carrot and corn colour clothes day on the last day of term - Thursday 4th July. As an extra incentive, the year level with the most cans on each campus will win a special treat. Students can start to bring in cans and put them in the classroom tubs.
