Term 4 Week 2

Dear Parents, Carers and Friends,

The students returned to school last week and it was wonderful to see the buzz around both campuses of children’s laughter and play. Just a reminder that our school has supervision from 8:30am each morning. If you need to drop your child to school earlier, we have TeamKids before school care with places available and students should be booked in to this service if they must be at school before 8:30am. The number of students at school before 8:30 is growing and this is a cause for concern as there is no teacher supervision during this period. Please support us in keeping the students safe at school by not dropping them off to before 8:30am. Our school day commences at 8:55am and it is also important to ensure the children are at school by this time. Things happen and there will be occasions when students are late but please try to avoid being late as much as possible as students coming into the classroom late impacts precious learn time.

 This Friday is not only the Boorowa Touch Football and Netball Carnival, but also National Teacher’s Day. I am very proud of and thankful for the teachers we have here at St Gregory’s. Their dedication, care for the children and passion for teaching is always visible.  I can’t fault their determination to work to tweak their teaching practice to achieve the best results possible for the children. I thank all the teachers and each and every member of staff for making St Gregory’s a great school both to learn and work at. A big thank you to Ellen and the other Lowe Street parents for their effort in making sure our teachers felt appreciated this week. We are very grateful.

In this month of October, we continue to pray the Rosary to be drawn closer to Jesus. This very old tradition includes praying the Hail, Hold Queen prayer. Together we pray this prayer.

Hail, Holy Queen, Mother of mercy,
hail, our life, our sweetness, and our hope.
To you we cry, the children of Eve;
to you we send up our sighs,
mourning and weeping in this land of exile.
Turn, then, most gracious advocate,
your eyes of mercy toward us;
lead us home at last
and show us the blessed fruit of your womb, Jesus:
O clement, O loving, O sweet Virgin Mary.

Amen.
