St Gregs School Council was requested to investigate quality control concerns with specific new uniform items purchased through Lowes in Queanbeyan. The items in question were the embroidered logo yellow sports shirt, and the blue and yellow sports tracksuit.

Additional feedback collected via the ‘Tell Them From Me’ survey enabled the Council to approach the Lowes senior account manager for response.

In summary, the supplier of these garments to Lowes has not changed in 5 years. Any changes due to supply interruptions aren’t likely to have had an impact on quality. Lowes are more than happy to replace or refund clothing items with proof of purchase. This is guaranteed under Australian Consumer Law.

If you’re considering buying new uniform in preparation for 2025, it is recommended you:

1. store a copy of the receipt (photocopy or photo are recommended),
2. follow the cleaning instructions on the labels,
3. in the event of questionable quality, take a photo of the fault and email it to the Council’s email (stgregorys.schoolcouncil@cg.catholic.edu.au). We’ve started a register of faulty items to pass onto Lowes periodically, and
4. return the garment to Lowes, with proof of purchase, for exchange or refund.

Second hand garments purchased privately, or through the uniform pool at Lowe’s Street cannot be considered for refund or replacement.
