Y6 Thanksgiving Mass
Today, the Year 6 students celebrated their time at St Gregory's with a Thanksgiving Liturgy. Although it was hot inside the church, everyone participated reverently. Fr Tony gave a lovely message of thanksgiving and the students sang their hearts out.
GIFT Assembly
Last Friday, our Kinder and Year 1 students retold the Nativity story through some narration and cheerful singing. The great atmosphere was finished off with the whole church singing Feliz Navidad.
End of Year Liturgy
Last Thursday, we witnessed arguably the most energetic liturgy St Raphael's has ever seen. Fr Josh blessed us all with holy water, the students' singing lifted the roof and the bells were ringing! We also thanked Carinna for her time helping us as part of the community council. What a celebration! We will miss you Fr Josh. Best of luck for the future.
St Vincent de Paul Christmas Appeal
A huge thank you to everyone who donate items towards the Vinnies Christmas Appeal. We nearly had to use the roof racks on their vehicle to transport the items. St Vincent de Paul are extremely grateful for your generous support for this and all the other events throughout the year. God bless you.
Northern Region Chess Competition
The winners of the St Gregory's Chess competition went through to the Northern Region competition, held at Mt Carmel Primary School in Yass.
Congratulations to Izack Pearson (Year 3) and Harry Meadley (Year 5) who both finished the tournament undefeated. Noah Fellows (Year 4) also did us proud, coming in a close third. The Year 6 group finished in an unusual 3-way tie that required another mini round-robin to determine a winner. Ethan Hauser played some intense matches, ending up equal first with one win and a draw. Unfortunately, it went down to points and he had less valuable pieces left on the board in the drawn match which was against the eventual winner.
Many thanks to Mt Carmel for hosting the event. A great day was had by all.
